How to Use the Meal Calorie Counter
Search for any food in our database of 300,000+ foods, set the portion size in grams, and add it to your meal. The counter tracks total calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, and fiber as you build your plate. This works with both international foods from the USDA database and Nigerian dishes like jollof rice, egusi soup, moi moi, and suya.
Why Track Meal Calories?
Understanding the calorie content of your meals helps you make informed decisions about portions and food choices. Whether you are trying to lose weight through a calorie deficit, build muscle, or simply eat more balanced meals, knowing what is on your plate is the first step. Use the Calorie Calculator to find your daily target, then use this tool to see how each meal contributes to that target.
Tips for Accurate Calorie Counting
All nutrition values in this tool are per 100g. For the most accurate results, weigh your food with a kitchen scale and enter the exact gram weight. If you do not have a scale, use the hand portion method to estimate: your palm equals roughly 100g of protein, your fist equals about 150g of vegetables, and your cupped hand equals roughly 100g of cooked carbohydrates.
